Emily Canepa

Middle School Girls Lacrosse Coach

Emily Canepa brings a wealth of collegiate playing experience and professional leadership to her role as the middle school girls’ lacrosse coach. A natural mentor both on the field and in her career, Coach Canepa is dedicated to developing young athletes’ foundational skills, field IQ, and self-confidence.

A native of West Chester, Ohio, where she played for Lakota West High School, Emily went on to have a standout NCAA Division III career at Trine University (2010–2013). During her time with the Thunder, she was a dominant two-way player, racking up 97 career points (81 goals, 16 assists). Known for her tenacity and hustle, she set school records for single-game caused turnovers and was a powerhouse in scooping groundballs. Her senior season was highlighted by multiple high-scoring games—including an impressive hat-trick on Senior Day—and a selection to the MIAA Honor Roll, demonstrating her commitment as a true student-athlete.

Coach Canepa’s philosophy centers on translating the grit and teamwork required in lacrosse into lifelong leadership skills. Drawing from her own collegiate days of battling for groundballs and anchoring her team’s offense, she emphasizes effort, communication, and resilience. For Emily, middle school lacrosse is about more than just mastering the draw circle; it’s about empowering young women, fostering a love for the game, and helping every player discover their potential on and off the field.
